Works from the Aliens series were selected for the Young Masters Autumn Exhibition, presented by Cynthia Corbett Gallery and co-curated by Cynthia Corbett and Daisy McMullan. Bringing together international artists whose work engages with the art of the past, the exhibition explored contemporary themes through a wide range of media and approaches.

Townsend exhibited Aliens 1956 and Aliens 1992, featuring sculptural representations of passionflower and rhododendron. Part of the Aliens series, the works draw upon botanical collections, historical plant records and the movement of species across cultures and landscapes. Presented at The Exhibitionist Hotel in South Kensington, London, the exhibition introduced the work to new audiences within a curated programme of emerging and established artists.

Selection for the Young Masters Autumn Exhibition provided an opportunity to present the series to new audiences through a nationally recognised curated programme, highlighting the project’s exploration of collecting, memory and belonging.
