Works from the Asian Flowers, The Collector and Flight of the Bumblebees series were presented by Karin Weber Gallery at Art Central 2023, Hong Kong. Held during Hong Kong Art Week, Art Central brings together leading contemporary galleries from across Asia and beyond and has established itself as a major platform for new discoveries in contemporary art.
Presented as part of Karin Weber Gallery’s programme, the exhibition brought together several of Townsend’s ongoing botanical projects, introducing audiences to sculptures exploring flowering plants, ecology and environmental change. The presentation formed part of the artist’s continuing relationship with Hong Kong and marked a significant showing of her work within the gallery’s booth.
