Flora

8 March - 6 April 2025
Celf Gallery, Cardiff.

Works from the Aliens and Life Support series were presented in FLORA, the inaugural themed exhibition at Celf Gallery. Bringing together gallery artists and invited artists whose work draws inspiration from the botanical world, the exhibition explored the many ways flowers and plant forms continue to shape contemporary artistic practice.

Across painting, sculpture and mixed media, the exhibition revealed a wide range of responses to flora, from close observation and realism to abstraction and material experimentation. Townsend’s sculptures contributed a perspective rooted in ecology and plant life, reflecting an ongoing interest in the relationships between humans, cultivated landscapes and the natural systems that sustain them.
