Summer Exhibition, Cardiff

19 July - 18 August 2024
Celf Gallery. Cardiff, CF24 3NA

Works from the Life Support series and Creep were presented as part of Celf Gallery’s Summer Exhibition 2024. Bringing together new work by gallery artists, the exhibition marked Townsend’s introduction to the gallery’s programme and the beginning of an ongoing relationship with Celf.

Presented alongside work by established Welsh and international artists, the exhibition introduced audiences to sculptures exploring plant life, ecology and material transformation. Works from the Life Support series were displayed within large hand-blown glass orbs on metal bases, while Creep examined the relationship between the body, environmental anxiety and the restorative power of nature through a sculpted daisy-chain sculpture.

The exhibition marked Townsend’s introduction to Celf Gallery, where she is now represented.
