Works from The Collector series were included in Uncommon Beauty, a group exhibition curated by Verity Pulford at Craft in the Bay, Cardiff. The exhibition brought together artists working across craft, sculpture and mixed media, including Kate McGwire, Junko Mori, Joe Hogan and Louise Ann Wright.
Townsend exhibited four sculptures from The Collector series. Displayed beneath traditional glass domes, the works reference botanical collections, museum displays and the act of collecting itself, presenting wildflowers as treasured specimens suspended between preservation and decay.
The exhibition placed the series within a contemporary craft setting, showing the work alongside a diverse group of established and emerging makers from across the UK and Ireland.
