Works from the Asian Flowers and Flight of the Bumblebees series were presented by Karin Weber Gallery at Fine Art Asia 2023, Hong Kong. The exhibition included Chrysanthemum from Asian Flowers and Plum from Flight of the Bumblebees, continuing Townsend’s exploration of flowering plants, pollination and cultural exchange.
Recognised as one of Asia’s leading art fairs, Fine Art Asia brings together museum-quality antiques, contemporary art, jewellery and design, spanning thousands of years of cultural history. Presented as part of Karin Weber Gallery’s programme, the works formed part of Townsend’s ongoing engagement with audiences in Hong Kong and reflected research into botanical species connected to both Asian and British landscapes.
